 180 €

Our CAISSA Chess Beachtowel is here to make your days at the beach or the park more fun, while challenging family and friends to a game worthy of the ancient gods.

The name Caissa refers to a mythological nymph or deity introduced in an Italian poem called Scacchia Ludus, published in 1527. In this story, we hear about a game of chess between the Roman gods Mercury and Apollo.
Later, in 1763, a poem written by Sir William Jones makes her officialy become the Goddess of Chess. To this day, Caissa is still referenced by chess players, who play the game in a careful and specific way, in order to avoid the wrath of the Goddess.

Made in our Roman Atelier using 100% premium italian cotton sponge and headstock cotton on top.

If your order is urgent or in case of interest in any other colour option for the board or sponge don't hesitate to contact us on le3sarte@gmail.com
