Shantung is a silk plain weave fabric, historically from the Chinese province of Shandong, and often used for bridal gowns. It is typically known to be of irregular structure and to have tiny knots all over the fabric, created by long weft yarns. With a lustrous and slightly stiff texture, it is the epitome of elegance and adds the perfect inch of style to your outfit.
To enjoy your shantung silk piece for a long time, make sure the garment is covered and hung on padded hangers to avoid pressure points in the fabric. Professional dry-clean only. Air the garment out by placing it in a shaded area for a couple hours.
